If you are looking to start using studio strobe lighting in your photography but don’t know where to starts, this workship will get you going in the world of studio flash photography.
We will start with a very basic LED- how to set up for a studio shoot; how to set up for a head and shoulder portrait, and learn the differences between a one, two and three light studio set up.
Everyone will get a chance to photography in each lighting set up that we create.
When you purchase a studio lighting class, you will also receive a class certificate
good for a one hour studio rental with a two light set up to apply what you’ve learned.
The rental will be subject to studio availability, and must be used during store hours within 30 days of class.
Topics included:
- different types of lighting equipment available for the studio
- different types of light modifiers available- umbrellas, softboxes, etc.
- Uses of reflctors as a light source
- the importance of a flash meter and how to use one
- how to sync your camera to the lights
There will be hands on lighting setups to allow you to start shooting in class. You will be able to see what type of light will work for your style and your location. You will work with different modifiers and several different lighting set ups.
The class will also include:
- placement of lights
- working with classic portrait lighting setups
- how and when to use a softbox versus umbrella
- lighting a background low key and high key
- basic posing ideas for men and women

Photos On The Vine is a local photography studio which also rents studio space and holds various types of photography classes from beginner classes to studio lighting. This class is a BYOB event.
