Learn techniques for using speedlight flash on-camera indoors. While many photographers avoid using on-camera flash, some situations like event photography call for it. Use of on-camera flash typically yields unflattering results. This two-hour class will cover key topics to get you using on-camera flash in an unconventional manner to get beautiful results. You’ll practice what you learn with other members of the class to ensure you’ve mastered this new technique.

Audience
This class is targeted for all levels of photographers who have a speedlight flash with a rotating flash head who want to improve their indoor portrait and event photography.
Objective
This workshop provides a great, non-intuitive approach to using on-camera flash indoors. Students will work with one another to practice and master the technique they’ve learned. Students will leave the class with a new approach to using on-camera flash they can put to use immediately.
Schedule and Format
This two-hour class consists of lecture, demonstration and practice. Students will see the instructor demonstrate all camera settings and techniques then practice the technique with other students. The instructor will review student work and provide suggestions for improvement. Students need to bring their camera, lens and a speedlight flash with rotating flash head.
About the Instructor
Xavier DeLaPaz is the main instructor at Photos On The Vine. He has been in the photography business for over 20 years. He started out in photography retail in his early years, managing several camera stores in the DFW area and also teaching basic photography and professional studio setup and lighting. In 2005, he then went on to develop and patent photographic lighting products.
Minimum Enrollment
This class needs a minimum number of students to enroll before the class can “make.” If the minimum enrollment has not been met two business days before the class begins, the class will be cancelled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by telephone or email, and may transfer to a different class or be issued a refund (see refund procedure). We encourage all students to enroll as soon as registration begins.
Refunds
Unless otherwise stated, class refunds are only issued to customers that provide notice no later than two business days prior to the class. Refunds will not be issued to customers who sign up for a class but fail to attend.
