In this Beginners PhotoShop Class
Learn the basics of using PhotoShop to edit your photographs. We will cover the basics file management and organization. How to create folders to easily find all of your favorite digital files. We will work in PhotoShop to understand the correct way to set up and use cropping, how to color balance and make image adjustments. We will also be working with basic retouching tools, and other easy features of Photoshop to get you started using PhotoShop to edit your photographs and get them ready for printing.
- Importing Your Files from a Card Reader
- Creating Unique Folders and Saving on an External Hard Drive
- Basic Adjustments such as Exposure, Cropping, Vignetting in Lightroom (optional)
- Exporting to Photoshop and saving images as a .jpeg
- Learning Photoshop workspace and toolbars
- Opening Up Files in Photoshop
- Crop, Exposure Adjustments, Sharpening
- Basic Editing Such as Retouching Wrinkles and Smoothing Out Skin
What to bring:
- Your laptop loaded with Photoshop. If you are paying the monthly subscription fee for Photoshop *$10 a month, then Lightroom is included in that bundle. We can talk Lightroom if that is something the class is interested in. Lightroom is how I first edit all RAW files from the camera.
- Patrice will provide the images for all students to work on together from processing the files to editing them as jpegs in Photoshop.
If you have a different version of Photo Shop, or another photo editing software, I welcome you to join this class. Though some of the features of Photoshop may not be the same, you will be able to follow along to learn the basic tools of editing photographs.
This will be a hands on class and we will be working individually and together to learn how to take the images from a RAW state and the workflow designed to edit, and prepare the file to ultimately present to a client, or print. This class size is limited to 5 attendees, so there is plenty of opportunity for one on one assistance.
Photos On The Vine is a local photography studio which also rents studio space and holds various types of photography classes from beginner classes to studio lighting.
