People often ask us why we teach photography classes when we are running our own portrait studio. ‘Aren’t you afraid of competition?’ ‘Aren’t there already enough photographers out there in this industry?’

We started teaching Photography, Lighting, and Photoshop classes because we have a natural love for sharing with others. We have our own unique shooting and editing style that comes with yers of experience. We’ve been in the business for over 20 years, both of us starting out shooting film and processing in the darkroom. We have come through the digital age and love where this industry is today. Sharing and helping others is part of our mission in leaving a mark upon this world.

We think it makes for a much better photographic world when people who are getting their first camera, learn how to use it. What do all those buttons do? How can I stop action? How can I focus on my subject and get the right exposure? These are questions you can easily find the answers to on any number of youtube channels. We’ve been remodeling our own house recently and did most of our research on youtube. There are answers out there for just about any topic and any field.

Teaching allows people to have that one on one interaction that really helps a person to learn and grow. In this technological world, we feel one on one relationships are so important in helping each other grow. Laughing over a glass of wine. Looking at images you have taken. Inspiring you to learn more. Relationships. That’s why we teach. We have learned as much from you as you have from us.
